Step into the world of a 19th-century naturalist with the Wilde Bloemen Transfer by Iron Orchid Designs. Wilde Bloemen — Dutch for “Wild Flowers” — is one of IOD’s most breathtaking collections, drawing from the golden age of European natural history illustration. Eight sheets overflow with meticulously rendered wildflowers, exotic birds, and insects captured with the precision of a museum specimen and the warmth of a hand-colored plate.

Imagine a painted cabinet adorned with a jewel-toned sunbird perched beside cascading bluebells, a cluster of painted lady butterflies lifting from a foxglove spike, or a frog nestled among morning glories and clover. Every element is a conversation piece — and together they compose something that feels like a private natural history museum, curated just for your home.

What’s Included

  • 8 sheets of transfers, each 8”×12”
  • Butterflies & moths: red admiral, painted lady, orange fritillary, yellow-black swallowtail, red butterfly, map butterfly, Apollo, small copper, blue-orange butterfly, large yellow Apollo, and more
  • Birds: iridescent green-yellow sunbirds (multiple species), olive warbler
  • Other fauna: dragonfly, frogs, beetles, bees, flies, ladybird, caterpillar
  • Wildflowers & botanicals: foxglove, anemones (purple & red), bluebells, morning glories, sweet peas, pansies/violas, clover, phlox, geranium, Turk’s cap lily, columbine, forget-me-nots, daisies, marigolds, nigella, agapanthus, allium, buttercups, strawberry plant, wild rose, cornflower, delphinium, sage, and more
  • Rich naturalist palette: jewel tones, soft mauves, sage greens, and warm neutrals on a white ground

How to Apply

  1. Cut out your desired transfer elements, keeping the protective backing in place.
  2. Position the transfer on your surface and secure corners with tape.
  3. Rub firmly from one corner using the provided tool until fully adhered.
  4. Peel back the sheet — re-lay and rub any areas that haven’t transferred.
  5. Smooth down with a clean, dry hand and burnish edges.
  6. Seal with a water-based, solvent-free topcoat.

Tips for Best Results

  • Surface should be clean, dry, and fully cured.
  • Avoid application in extreme temperatures, humidity, or wind.
  • Do not apply over chalky or mineral-based paint without sealing first with a water-based polyurethane finish.
  • Not intended for outdoor use or prolonged direct sunlight.
