Two sweeping large-format border designs — a deeply sculpted acanthus scroll frieze and a lush full-bloom floral garland — bring the opulence of carved plasterwork and gilded boiserie to any surface you choose. These are the most architecturally ambitious borders in the Trimmings series, designed to anchor statement pieces and command attention from across the room.

Run the acanthus scroll frieze (61ml/91g) along the top rail of an armoire for a Baroque cornice effect, or use it as a continuous dado rail across a set of cabinet doors. Layer the full-bloom floral garland (85ml/127g) across a wide drawer front or sideboard apron for a romantic, garden-inspired centrepiece. Both borders are designed to tile seamlessly for continuous runs of any length. Micro-Rims and Measure Marks are built into the mould for cleaner castings and precise media measurement.

Design Applications

• Run the acanthus scroll frieze along the top rail of an armoire or wardrobe for a full Baroque cornice effect
• Apply the floral garland across a wide sideboard apron or dresser drawer front as a romantic centrepiece panel
• Use both borders together on a large cabinet — acanthus at the top, florals at the centre — for a complete palace interior composition

How to Use

1. Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward to eliminate air pockets in the petal and leaf detail.
2. Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
3. Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium's instructions.
4. Flex the silicone mould gently to release the casting.
5. Adhere to your surface using strong craft adhesive or gel medium.
6. Once dry, paint, dry-brush, or wax over the casting to finish.

Tips for Best Results

• Use the Measure Marks on the mould to pre-measure your medium — these are large-volume elements, so accurate measurement avoids waste.
• For the floral garland: press medium very firmly into the innermost petal and bud cavities — these are the finest detail; allow to cure fully before releasing.
• For the acanthus scroll: press medium carefully into the deep scroll cavities and allow to cure fully to preserve the sharp edge definition.
• For IOD Decor Mousse: press firmly, scrape the back flat, and allow to air-dry in the mould for 15–20 minutes before releasing (longer than smaller elements due to volume).
• Carved plasterwork finish: paint in warm stone or aged cream, apply raw umber thinned with water into all the leaf and petal recesses, wipe back the high points for a sculpted relief effect.
• For a gilded finish: base coat in black, dry-brush with gold or bronze over the high points for a dramatic Baroque effect.
• Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
