Bring the quiet magic of the forest floor to your surfaces with the Toadstool Decor Mould by Iron Orchid Designs. Fourteen mushroom and fungi elements — from towering fly agarics and morels to clusters of small toadstools and bracket fungi — sculpted with the exacting naturalist precision of a Victorian botanical illustration. Every gill line, every cap texture, every stem ring is individually rendered in deep, three-dimensional relief that reads like a foraged specimen collection from across the room.
The Toadstool mould is one of the most botanically detailed in the IOD range. The large flat parasol mushroom cap (30ml/45g) commands any surface it anchors. The morel (7ml/10g) with its honeycomb cap texture is a standout statement piece. The cluster of small toadstools on the left panel composes beautifully across a drawer front or tray. Arrange a full woodland scene across a large cabinet door, scatter individual fungi across a set of drawers, or use the largest caps as standalone centrepieces. Micro-Rims and Measure Marks are built into the mould for cleaner castings and precise media measurement.

Design Applications
- Compose a full woodland floor scene across a large cabinet door — arrange by size from the large parasol cap down to the small toadstool clusters
- Apply the large parasol cap and morel as a dramatic paired statement on a sideboard or bookcase
- Scatter individual fungi across a set of drawers — one specimen per drawer — for a cottagecore botanical chest
- Use the bracket fungi along the edge of a shelf or frame for a naturalist border detail
- Combine with Specimens mould beetles for a full Victorian cabinet of curiosities display
- Paint in warm stone, aged cream, or deep forest green and finish with raw umber dry-brush for a naturalist botanical finish
How to Use
- Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward to eliminate air pockets in the gill and cap texture detail.
- Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
- Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium's instructions.
- Flex the silicone mould gently to release the cast mushroom.
- Adhere to your surface using strong craft adhesive or gel medium.
- Once dry, paint, dry-brush, or wax over the casting to finish.
Tips for Best Results
- Use the Measure Marks on the mould to measure your medium before pressing.
- For the large parasol cap: press medium very firmly into the gill cavities — these are the finest detail; allow to cure fully before releasing.
- For the morel: press medium carefully into all the honeycomb cavities and allow to cure fully before releasing to preserve the texture.
- For IOD Decor Mousse: press firmly, scrape the back flat, and allow to air-dry in the mould for 10–15 minutes before releasing.
- Woodland finish: paint in warm stone or aged cream, apply raw umber thinned with water into all gill and cap recesses, wipe back the high points for a foraged specimen effect.
- For a dramatic dark background: paint the surface deep forest green or black before applying mushrooms in cream or gold for maximum contrast.
- Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
