The ultimate gilded frame collection — the Petits Ornements Gilded Foil Transfer by Iron Orchid Designs is a pure ornament set: eight 12" × 16" sheets packed exclusively with decorative frames, cartouches, oval wreaths, Baroque cartouches, heraldic shields, and border elements, all rendered in lustrous gold foil with a warm gold-to-amber gradient. Every frame has a blank interior — ready to be written in with chalk marker, painted into, layered with another IOD transfer, or left open as a gilded accent.
This is the set that makes everything else in your IOD collection shine brighter. Use a Rococo oval frame to spotlight a botanical transfer. Apply a heraldic griffin shield to a cabinet door and fill the center with a label. Wrap a tray in a laurel wreath border. Layer a Baroque cartouche over a painted surface and write a customer’s name inside in chalk. The possibilities are genuinely endless — and the results look like the work of a professional gilder.

What's Included
- 8 sheets of gilded foil transfers, each 8" × 12"
- All gold foil with warm gold-to-amber gradient
- All frames have blank interiors — write in, paint, or layer with other transfers
- Cut-apart vignette style — mix, match, and compose individual elements
- Bonus: spent sheets can be reused with gold leaf adhesive size to apply the negative design
How to Apply Gilded Transfers
- Seal painted or porous surfaces with a satin or semi-gloss sealer and allow to dry thoroughly before applying.
- Carefully select and cut out your transfer pieces, keeping the protective backing with the transfer.
- Hovering over the surface, position the transfer piece where you want to apply it.
- Put the transfer in place (optionally secure corners with small piece of low grip tape).
- Using the provided tool, start in one corner and rub with firm, even pressure to adhere the transfer. Continue across the design until fully adhered.
- Remove the sheet and smooth down any loose areas with a clean, dry hand. Burnish firmly to ensure maximum adhesion.
- Seal with two topcoats of a water-based sealer to enhance durability.
Bonus technique: After use, do not discard spent sheets. Apply gold leaf adhesive size to your project surface, allow to become tacky (not wet), then apply the spent sheet and burnish to transfer the negative design in gold.
Tips for Best Results
- Take extra care to keep the transfer with the protective backing until you are ready to apply.
- Keep free of dust or debris, which will interfere with adhesion.
- Surface should be clean, dry, fully cured, and sealed before applying.
- If using chalky or mineral-based paint, seal with a water-based polyurethane finish prior to applying.
- Avoid solvent-based topcoats, which can adversely affect the bond.
- Not intended for outdoor use or constant direct sunlight.
