Capture the drama of the hunt with the Horse and Hound Decor Mould by Iron Orchid Designs. Nine elements - a magnificent galloping horse, two running foxhounds, and a complete family of acorn and oak leaf clusters in five sizes - all sculpted with the naturalist precision of a 19th-century sporting print in deep, three-dimensional relief. The galloping horse is one of the most dynamically posed elements in the entire IOD range: mane and tail streaming, legs fully extended in a flat-out gallop, every muscle and hair strand individually sculpted.
Apply the full hunt composition across a large cabinet door - horse centre, hounds flanking, acorn clusters scattered as ground cover - for a piece that reads like genuine carved sporting plasterwork from a Georgian country house. The two foxhounds are a natural pair: one running left, one running right. The acorn and oak leaf clusters in five sizes give you everything needed to fill and balance any composition at any scale. Micro-Rims and Measure Marks are built into the mould.

- Two foxhounds as a mirrored pair flanking a cabinet door or mirror frame
- Acorn and oak leaf clusters in graduating sizes across a set of drawers as autumnal accents
- Paint in warm cream, hunter green, or deep navy and finish with raw umber dry-brush for a classic Georgian sporting palette
How to Use
- Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward.
- Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
- Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium's instructions.
- Flex the silicone mould gently to release the cast ornament.
- Adhere to your surface using strong craft adhesive or gel medium.
- Once dry, paint, gild, dry-brush, or wax to finish.
Tips for Best Results
- Use the Measure Marks on the mould to measure your medium before pressing.
- For the large galloping horse: press firmly into the mane and tail detail. Allow to air-dry in the mould for 20 minutes before releasing.
- For the foxhounds: press carefully into the ear and leg detail to capture the full coat texture.
- For the tiny acorn and small oak leaf: very fine elements - press carefully and cure fully before releasing.
- Lightly mist the mould with water before pressing in air-dry clay to prevent sticking.
- Sporting print finish: paint in warm cream, apply raw umber thinned with water into the coat recesses, wipe back the high points for a sepia effect.
- Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
