Step through the door to somewhere magical with the Hidden Hollow Decor Mould by Iron Orchid Designs. Three complete architectural door scenes - each one a fully realised world in miniature, sculpted in extraordinary depth and detail - that transform any painted surface into a portal to a secret garden, an enchanted woodland, or a Gothic fairy-tale realm.

The three doors are each a distinct architectural character: a warm cottage door set in a brick arch smothered in climbing roses and ivy, a mysterious woodland door framed by bare gnarled branches with iron strap hinges and a latch lock, and a soaring pointed Gothic arch door with a leaded tracery window, ivy-covered stone surround, and a letterbox slot. Every plank of wood grain, every brick course, every rose leaf, every branch fork is individually sculpted in deep relief. The casting detail is the most architecturally complex of any IOD mould - the woodland door alone contains hundreds of individually rendered bark texture lines across the branch arch.

Design Applications

How to Use

1. Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward to eliminate air pockets in the wood grain, brick, and branch detail.
2. Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
3. Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium's instructions.
4. Flex the silicone mould gently to release the cast door.
5. Adhere to your surface using strong craft adhesive or gel medium.
6. Once dry, paint, dry-brush, or wax over the casting to integrate it with your piece.

Tips for Best Results

• Use the Measure Marks on the mould to measure your medium before pressing.
• For the Gothic Woodland Door: press medium very firmly into all branch bark texture cavities - the hundreds of individual bark lines require firm, even pressure across the entire branch arch area.
• For the leaded tracery window: press medium carefully into the fine tracery cavities and allow to cure fully before releasing to avoid breakage.
• For the Cottage Rose Door: press medium firmly into the climbing rose and leaf cavities on the arch - work from the base of the arch upward.
• Lightly mist the mould with water before pressing in air-dry clay to prevent sticking.
• For IOD Decor Mousse: press firmly, scrape the back flat, and allow to air-dry in the mould for 20 minutes before releasing - these are large, deep elements.
• Weathered stone finish: paint in warm grey, apply raw umber thinned with water into the brick and branch recesses, wipe back the high points with a damp cloth.
• Aged wood finish: paint in dark brown, dry-brush with cream or grey across the wood grain high points for a weathered plank effect.
• Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
