Drape your furniture in liquid gold with the Étiquettes Gilded Foil Transfer by Iron Orchid Designs. Étiquettes — French for “labels” — is a love letter to the golden age of European typography and engraving. Four lavish 12”×16” sheets overflow with ornate cartouches, apothecary labels, bookseller frames, postal ephemera, and gilded script drawn from 18th- and 19th-century French and British print culture — all rendered in lustrous, mirror-bright gold foil.
Picture a painted armoire crowned with a gilded “Savon à la Rose” oval, a tray layered with Parisian bookseller cartouches and cherub vignettes, or a cabinet door anchored by the grand “Flore Française” title frame. Every element is a standalone statement — and together they compose something that feels like a private cabinet of curiosities, gilded just for you.

How to Apply
- Carefully select and cut out your transfer pieces, keeping the protective backing in place.
- Hovering over the surface, position the transfer piece where you want to apply it.
- Put the transfer in place (optionally secure corners with small pieces of low grip tape).
- Using the provided tool, start in one corner and rub with firm, even pressure until fully adhered.
- Remove the sheet and smooth down any loose areas with a clean, dry hand. Burnish firmly with a clean soft cloth.
- Seal with two topcoats of a water-based sealer for maximum durability.
Bonus tip: After use, don’t discard the spent sheets — apply gold leaf adhesive size to the negative design, let dry to tacky, then apply your IOD Gilded scrap and burnish to reveal the reverse image.
Tips for Best Results
- Keep the transfer with its protective backing until you are ready to apply.
- Keep free of dust or debris, which will interfere with adhesion.
- Surface should be clean, dry, and flat. Paint must be fully cured and free of residual moisture.
- If applying to a chalky, mineral-based, or porous painted surface, seal first with a satin or semi-gloss sealer and allow to dry thoroughly before applying.
- Avoid strong solvent-based topcoats when sealing over a transfer, as these can adversely affect the bond.
- Do not store in extreme temperatures or humid conditions.
- Not intended for outdoor use or prolonged direct sunlight.
