Bibelots Mould (IOD) Iron Orchid Designs- 6x10

Create your own heirloom Christmas ornaments and decorative objects with the Bibelots Décor Mould by Iron Orchid Designs. Five beautifully shaped elements — four classic Christmas bauble silhouettes and one oval serving tray/frame — all with smooth, lightly textured blank interiors that are designed to be painted into, stamped on, gilded, or layered with IOD transfers. Cast them in IOD Décor Mousse or air-dry clay, paint in your chosen palette, and finish with wax or varnish for ornaments that look genuinely antique.

The ornament caps are cast as part of each piece — detailed with an acanthus leaf and bead motif — so every ornament comes out of the mould looking finished and ready to hang. The oval tray element doubles as a decorative frame or plaque, with a beaded rope border and a smooth recessed interior ready for a transfer, painted scene, or gilded finish. Media quantity guides are printed directly on the mould sheet for every element.

Design Applications

• Cast a full set of ornaments, paint in chalk white and dry-brush with silver or gold for a vintage Christmas tree display
• Apply IOD gilded foil transfers (Tinsel, Figgy & Flourish) to the smooth ornament faces for a fully gilded ornament
• Use the oval tray as a decorative wall plaque — apply a botanical transfer to the recessed interior and hang as a framed piece
• Paint ornaments in deep jewel tones — navy, forest green, burgundy — and finish with gold wax for a rich Victorian palette
• Stamp the smooth ornament faces with IOD stamps before the medium fully cures for an impressed pattern effect

How to Use

1. Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward to eliminate air pockets.
2. Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
3. Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium’s instructions.
4. Flex the silicone mould gently to release the cast ornament.
5. Adhere to your surface or display as a standalone decorative object.
6. Once dry, paint, gild, dry-brush, stamp, or wax to finish.

Tips for Best Results

• Use the media quantity guides on the mould to measure your medium before pressing.
• Lightly mist the mould with water before pressing in air-dry clay to prevent sticking.
• For IOD Décor Mousse: press firmly, scrape the back flat, and allow to air-dry in the mould for 10–15 minutes before releasing.
• The smooth ornament faces are ideal for applying IOD transfers or stamps while the medium is still slightly soft.
• Add a ribbon or twine loop through the ornament cap before the medium fully cures to create a hanging ornament.
• Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
