Crown your furniture with the celestial beauty of Baroque plasterwork with the Angelic Tapers Décor Mould by Iron Orchid Designs. Three long, tapering ornaments — each one a sweeping feather-and-acanthus stem rising to a cherub face framed by wings and foliate scrolls — designed to be applied as flanking ornaments on cabinet doors, mirror frames, headboards, armoires, and architectural panels. Cast them in pairs, flip one to create a mirrored composition, and watch a plain painted piece transform into something that looks like it was carved by a 17th-century master gilder.
The mould sheet includes media quantity guides printed directly on the mould — so you know exactly how much IOD Décor Mousse or clay to use for each element before you start, eliminating waste and guesswork.

Design Applications
- Apply as mirrored pairs flanking a cabinet door panel or mirror frame
- Use as vertical corner ornaments on an armoire or wardrobe
- Apply diagonally across a headboard for a Baroque canopy effect
- Use the large taper as a single statement ornament on a tray or canvas
- Gild with gold leaf or IOD gilded transfers over the top for a fully gilded finish
How to Use
- Press your chosen medium firmly into the mould, working from the center outward to eliminate air pockets.
- Smooth the back flat with a palette knife or your finger.
- Allow to set or cure fully according to your medium’s instructions.
- Flex the silicone mould gently to release the cast ornament.
- Adhere to your surface using strong craft adhesive or gel medium.
- Once dry, paint, gild, dry-brush, or wax over the ornament to integrate it with your piece.
Tips for Best Results
- Use the media quantity guides on the mould to measure your medium before pressing — this prevents overfilling and waste.
- Lightly mist the mould with water before pressing in air-dry clay to prevent sticking.
- For IOD Décor Mousse: press firmly, scrape the back flat, and allow to air-dry in the mould for 10–15 minutes before releasing.
- Cast two of the large taper and flip one to create a perfectly mirrored pair.
- Sand or trim any flash from the edges of the cast piece before adhering.
- Prime cast pieces before painting for best paint adhesion.
